I grew up in worc and have seen a steady decline into a boring nowher uninspired city that doesnt know what it is or where its going.A once vibrant city with family owned businesses and active neighborhoods to drugged out dangerous downtown area after 5 where descnt people are afraid to walk.Get rid of city officials with who have no vision, tear the city down andstart start a national lottery where creative peopl can make something real happen in that wasteland.

Could not agree more. I remember Denholms and the Christmas Lights at City Hall. I loved this city thay uses to be full of hardworking, family oriented people. I moved South and miss the old Worcester, now I am told its dangerous to even go downtown. Too sad the druggies took it over.

"Bigelow Monument" been there at the common a long time. Bigelow was a revolutionary war hero but went to jail after the war as a pauper (poor/no cash/debter). Interesting story if you dig into it. Wow going to jail for debt!!!

I was born and raised in Worcester. I went to Oxford street school and Commerce High, and never thought that I would leave there, but I did in 1971 and moved back in 1973, only to leave again and move to Florida. I have many memories of Worcester, but things never remain the same. Old best friends have passed away and this once wonderful city is not so wonderful anymore. I have gone back several times to visit and leave feeling very sad.
