It was near St Pauls Cathedral on Chatham St, I believe.

As a side note, the YMCA building was built in 1886 on Elm Street. The men's organization moved to Main Street in 1918.

This building is now the home of the Performing Arts School of Worcester.

I attended Classical High, just up the hill from the "Y". We had our gym classes there. Because our gym teacher was a former Olympian swimmer, she managed to get permission to use the pool as part of our phys.ed. This was the years 1956-1959. High school was 3 years then, starting with the 10th grade; the junior highs ran grades 7,8, & 9.

This building is NOT the Performing Arts School. This building was designed by Steven Earle and built in 1892. It was eventually demolished and only the foundation, which forms the base of a parking lot, remains. The building which houses the Performing Arts School was designed by George Clemence and built in 1915. This present buiiding is one lot down toward Main Street from the building pictured above.
